I studied a master's degree in Civil Engineering at University of Cantabria. During my studies, I also spent time at Cornell University (USA) and at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway). My master thesis research is centered on developing a seasonal forecast of tropical cyclone activity in the south Pacific Ocean.

I have started my PhD at the University of Canterbury (New Zealand), focusing on the development of advancing methods of rapid flood risk scenario assessment using hybrid approaches of hydraulic modelling and machine learning.
