Developing techniques for assessing coastal hazards and impacts of climate change
Funding institution: United State Geological Survey (USGS), USA
Period: 2015-2019
Description: In this cooperative agreement between USGS (PI. Patrick Barnard) and our group, we have been working in the analysis of coastal hazards (flooding, erosion) in the west coastal of USA, taking into account El NiƱo variability and climate change. We have developed a global classification of coastal flooding climates, a statistical model to analyze multimodal waves in Southern California, a statistical model to simulate multivariate wave forcing conditions and a statistical physically-based model of mean sea level and storm surge on the west coast of USA.
