Advancing Best Practices for the Analysis of the Vulnerability of Military Installations in the Pacific Basin to Coastal Flooding under a Changing Climate

Funding institution: Department of Defense of USA

Period: 2016-2020

Description: In this project led by NOAA (PI John Marra) we have developed in collaboration with OSU (Prof. Peter Ruggiero) a climate-based emulator (TESLA, time-varying emulator for short and long-term analysis of coastal flooding), with applications in the US military installations of Guam, Roi-Namur and Kwajalein (RMI), Kaneohe (Oahu) and San Diego. The model has been implemented in the Python Ecosystem with a collection of libraries and Jupyter Notebooks: https://github.com/teslakit/teslakit
